In 2012 rockpool worked with Hackney Council and the local NHS to explore the health behaviours and attitudes to risk among 11-19 year olds in the borough. This involved literature and policy reviews, large-scale surveys, focus groups with young people leading unhealthy lifestyles, collaboration with other stakeholders across the council, the development of a range of public health campaign materials and the running of a healthy youth conference

In 2013, we worked with Land Use Consultants to produce an organisational strategy for the Healthy Urban Development Unit. This involved a review of the literature and policy surrounding the link between obesity and the urban environment

In 2014, we built on our Hackney work with a similar project for Sutton Council, looking at a range of risky health behaviours, from obesity to self-harm. As well as a comprehensive evidence review, this involved a series of stakeholder interviews, a survey, a programme of focus groups and ‘paired’ parental interviews and the Sutton Youth Summit where rockpool, council officers and other stakeholders worked with dozens of young people to help develop a range of service propositions

In 2017, we worked with Barnados and the National FGM Centre to test and assess the best ways of supporting women and girls who have been subjected to FGM
